'Palestinian court sentences 2 men to death for collaboration with Israel'

A Palestinian court in Jenin sentenced two Palestinians to death by firing squad on Tuesday on charges of collaboration with Israel, Reuters reported. According to the military court, Wael Said Saad and Mohammad Saad had "contacted the enemy" and were found guilty of "treason." The verdict could not be appealed. But the sentencing was unlikely to be carried out because it had to first be ratified by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, something that, according to Reuters, he has never done before.
