Residents reported a huge explosion in Gaza City after nightfall Wednesday, in what appeared to be the second Israeli airstrike of the day.
The IDF had no immediate comment.
Witnesses said a missile was fired at a car, but the suspect who was the apparent target escaped unharmed, and no one else was hurt.
Islamic Jihad officials identified him as Khader Habib, a spokesman for the group.
