Turkish jets strike Kurdish rebel target in northern Iraq

Turkish warplanes struck a Kurdish rebel target in northern Iraq, the Turkish army said Sunday. A brief statement posted on the military's Web site said the jets "effectively" hit a rebel target in the Zap region just across the shared border. It gave no other detail.
