Turkish warplanes hit Kurdish targets in Iraq

Turkey's military said its warplanes have successfully attacked 16 Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq. Brig. Gen. Metin Gurak, spokesman for the military, said the targets on Qandil mountain were bombed Thursday night. Gurak told a news conference Friday that the military has taken the utmost care to spare civilians from any harm. But Kurdish rebel spokesman Ahmed Deniz said the air raid damaged a school and wounded three people. The military has not revealed any casualty figure.
