MDA paramedics provided initial treatment to an approximately 70-year-old man who suffered severe injuries. Eleven other people were lightly to moderately injured in the accident.

Helicopters were en route to the site of the accident to evacuate the injured to hospital.

The two women killed in the accident were pronounced dead at the scene by MDA paramedics.
