Of those 450 victims, the highest number of people (32%) were driving their own vehicle, while pedestrians were also an important victim, representing 27% of the deaths.

The 22-year old was on his way to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra when his motorcycle skidded off the highway.

All of those wounded were evacuated to Ziv Medical Center in Safed by Magen David Adom (MDA), the hospital's spokesperson confirmed later in the day. 

Initial investigations suggest it was caused by two buses coming from opposite directions trying to overtake other vehicles, a lorry and a sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Eight Israeli tourists were injured when their bus collided with a truck in Vietnam’s Quảng Ngãi Province. All are in stable condition, with some treated on site.

Multiple passengers ended up trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated, while others were thrown from the bus when it rolled over across the highway.

Half of those wounded came on Highway 675 near the village of Kfar Yehezkel in the Jezreel Valley, which saw the collision of two cars.

In just the last week, 11 people have been killed in traffic accidents. Since the start of July, 35 people have died in car accidents, compared to 30 fatalities in June.

The 22-year-old that was killed was trapped under the bus after it flipped on to its left side, and he suffered from severe injuries.
