The Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI) is dedicated to engaging teens to discover, explore and embrace their connection to the history, culture and land of Israel. During an action-packed campus and travel-based adventure in Israel, students plunge into the history of the Jewish people and the whole country becomes a living classroom. AMHSI's seasoned and passionate educators become the students' mentors as they inspire them to live outside of books, encounter new ideas and challenge themselves in infinite ways. As AMHSI is accredited by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, students in grades 10-12 have the unique opportunity to take their high school classes with them so that they don't fall behind their regular school work back at home. Due to the academic nature of the program, there is also the option to earn college credits. All this in a place where the past, present and future come together like magic, and where world history is shaped every day. As one participant put it: "I learned more about my people and the history of this country in the first week than I have my entire life… To learn something in the classroom and then to be taken and to continue learning on the site of the occurrence is just amazing, for lack of a better word." Five 7-8 week AMHSI sessions are offered throughout the year and in 2009, there will be an exciting new Israel Hi-Tech Computer & Adventure Summer Program, running June 28th - July 27th, for high school students entering their freshman or sophomore year. In cooperation with the Israeli Youth Computer Movement, students will discover Israel and learn information, communication and computing technologies by designing websites, creating video games, producing multimedia movies and much more. In addition, all AMHSI summer program students will have the unique opportunity to attend the 18th Maccabiah Games Opening Ceremony and events in Israel! LEARN in a classroom without walls. LIVE 4000 years of history. LOVE an adventure unlike any other. Grow in ways you could not have imagined. Build life long friendships. See why more than 19,000 alumni say the Alexander Muss High School in Israel was one of the most important experiences of their lives. For more information, please visit www.amhsi.com.
