The organizationfor the Lone Soldier was established to bridge the gap between theneeds of the Lone Soldier and the provisions made by the IDF (IsraelDefense Forces) and State.
ALone Soldier who made Aliya in order to serve in the IDF or who wascompelled to leave his family for whatever reason, receives a monthlymilitary wage of approximately 1000 Shekels ($250), with a supplementof 200 Shekels ($50) per month which is supposed to cover livingaccomodation. A Lone Soldier who has no home to return to when onleave, no mother to cook for him nor a warm bed on which to lay hishead, has to provide his own lodgings, weekend meals, and all personalrequirements. During the year, he may receive holiday packages and soforth, which are all funded from contributions.
This is wherethe Organization for the Lone Soldier steps in. The organization helpsthe Lone Soldier supply what he lacks before enlistment, during activeservice and up to a year after his discharge.
Currently there are over 5000 Lone Soldiers serving in the IDF who need our help and support.
Weare currently embarking on a project to establish a - "Lone SoldierHouse", which will include guest rooms, a club, Synagogue, dining hall, and other amenities for the benefit of these young men and women.
