The video game industry, same as online casino industry, already makes more money than the movie industry, and these titles, which still do not see the light, generate more expectation (and income) than most film productions. It is estimated that the industry will continue to rise: by 2021, the money around video games will increase by 30%, to exceed 180,000 million dollars.

One of the reasons for this impulse is that video games have been sophisticated creating stories with a complex narrative, a bit in the manner of interactive films, in which cinematography is combined with the animation and competition of the game.

Their complexity is in proportion to the cost of designing and developing them. The titles can cost the studios between $ 30 and $ 60 million, with production times exceeding, for the most part, two and a half years. This sample of four video games, some of which are still in the development phase, is hardly a test of this universe.

The Last of Us II

- Studio: Naughty Dog / Release: Pending
- Development time: 19 months since its announcement / Platform: Playstation 4
- Director: Neil Druckmann and Josh Don / Genre: Action - Adventure (Terror)

In 2013, the planet met The Last of Us, a post apocalyptic video game in which humans, infected by a fungus, became a kind of zombie. This story, which sold 17 million copies, will continue with The Last of Us II, which Naughty Dog develops. According to Neil Druckmann, this new installment, which will have Ellie as its main character and that will be more bloody than the previous versions, will have sequences fully integrated with the story, that is, that happens instantly from the narrative to the game.

The Ghost of Tsushima

- Studio: Sucker Punch Productions / Release: Pending
- Development time: 9 months since your announcement / Platform: Playstation 4
- Director: Nate Fox / Genre: Action - Adventure (History)

It is the year 1274 and Japan is invaded by the Mongol army, being Tsushima Island one of the most affected places. It is right in this place where a samurai, a legendary Japanese defender, begins his path to revenge. Thus begins The Ghost of Tsushima, video game presented at the last E3 convention, in which gamers can take on the role of this samurai to defend their country. According to Brian Fleming, co-founder of Sucker Punch Productions, this title is integrated into the trend of sophisticated video games, because, he says, the player is following a plot at all times, and each fight and dialogue have a livelihood in this sense.

Spiderman

- Studio: Insomniac Games / Release: Sept. 7 of 2018
- Development time: 2 years and 6 months / Platform: Playstation 4
- Director: Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith / Genre: Action (Superheroes)

The Marvel superhero has a long history in video games; however, this delivery is not based on any story previously told. Behind are the award-winning comic writers Dan Slott and Christos Gage, who jumped from the pages to the consoles to narrate how Spiderman faces the Six Sinister. Bryan Intihar, director of Insomniac Games, says that while it is difficult to tell something new about a hero like the arachnid, this tendency to have more and more complex stories led them to sophisticate their game, allowing gamers to advance in the story, facing the villains, while accompanying Peter Parker in his day to day.

Kingdom Hearts 3

- Studio: Square Enix / Release: January 29, 2019
- Development time: Five years / Platforms: Playstation 4 - Xbox One
- Director: Tetsuya Nomura and Tai Yasue / Genre: Role Playing

In 2002, Disney launched, together with Square Enix, the game Kingdom Hearts, which mixes Walt's characters with the world of Final Fantasy, resulting in a crossover in a success that sold 20 million copies. In 2005, Kingdom Hearts 2 arrived to increase the good result; however, it took 14 years for the third part to come out. The creators of the game (in which young Sora, accompanied by Donald and Goofy, is fighting evil through film
