The British wheelchair basketball team arrived in Israel on Monday for a four-day training camp which will include a friendly game against the Israel national team. Both teams will be competing in this September's Paralympics in Beijing, China, which follow the main Olympic games, and this week is being seen as important preparation for each of the countries. Israel and Britain were drawn to play together in Group B at the Paralympics, avoiding Iran which plays in Group A. Great Britain is one of the strongest international wheelchair basketball sides, most recently winning a silver medal at the European Championships, beating Spain in the third-place game. Britain also won the bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Paralympics. Israel will play a training game against the Great Britain team on Tuesday before Thursday's friendly to be held at the Avnei Hoshen hall in Rishon Lezion on Thursday afternoon at 4:50 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Sport5.
