The Ga’ash Golf Club continued in its endeavor to support the community by holding a tournament this week from which all the proceeds went to Kfar Idud, a unique village for people with special needs.This year’s event was dedicated in the memory of Shelley Tiber, who, together with her husband Avraham founded the important tournament.Sixty golfers teed off in the morning field, while 52 more hit the links in the afternoon field to participate in the twoball team scramble format.The morning round was won by Aryeh Merdler and Amiram Zantkern with 57 net strokes. In second place were Aharon Bakshi and Yossi Merdler, with 58 net strokes.Capturing third was the pair of Marian Feigel and Yochanan Hoffman with 61 net strokes.In the afternoon section, first place went to Norma Kaufman and Inon Zadok with 59 net strokes. Yoram Leibowitz and Assaf Lengy with followed in second with 59 net strokes, while in third place were Eliezer Peleg and Natan Pulwer with 61 net strokes.All golfers were treated to a sleeve of golf balls and golf caps donated by Titleist.Also on the course at Ga’ash, the club had a busy week, holding the end of August Monthly Medal and the Blue Birdie Nomads Club 9 hole twilight tournament.The A division of the Monthly Medal went to Eli Ziv on net 68, followed by Greg Aliot on net 71. Norma Kaufman took the B division with a net 69 with Linda Streit finishing second on net 74.In the C division Dani Levin and Emmanuel Popowich both have scores of net 74 with Dani taking first place in the count out.Nearest-to-the-pin prize, sponsored by the Greenfield restaurant, went to Ruti Gross and Varda Shapira.The Blue Birdie tournaments format was an individual stableford competition, and also blind partners combined scores.The individual section was won by Asaf Langy followed by Chaim Revivo and in third place Zadik Bino.The blind partners section was won by Miki Hertzog and Yafa Samuel followed by Ilan Mendelson and Elad Hasson and in third place Ben Dryfus and Guy Ben Hamou.Prizes for the longest drives, sponsored by Callaway, went to Itamar Cohen and Evi Wyler. The nearest-to-the-pin on the ninth hole went to Arik Heanig.The nearest-to-the-pin prize on the 4th hole was sponsored by the Carlton Hotel Tel Aviv and went to Aharon Bakshi.
