Golan, Bernstein and Iny grab top honors

In the February Monthly Medal at the Ga'ash Golf Club this week, Gidi Golan took home the top prize in the "A" Division, Yoram Bernstein won the "B" Division and Meyer E. Iny captiured the "C" Division. The tournament was held over two days to accommodate the magnificent field of nearly 80 golfers. After the early rains on Tuesday morning, the weather for both days of play made conditions extremely favorable, which led to excellent scoring in all the divisions. Gidi Golan took the "A" Division with a net-68, playing off a three handicap; he had a superb round of gross 71. His front nine, at one-over-par 36, included two birdies, five pars, a bogie and a double. Coming home on the back-nine with even par 35, he scored one birdie, seven pars and one bogie. In second place, on net-69, was Michael Daniel. The play in the "B" Division was also of a very high quality, with winner Yoram Bernstein finishing on net-64 followed by the 2008 Champion of Champions winner Aaron Mizrahi, who shot net-65. In the "C" Division, Meyer E. Iny took first with a final score of net-67, and on net-69 were runners-up Yaakov Har-Oz and Esti Noy, with Yaakov taking second place on the count out. Nearest to the Pin prizes, sponsored by the Wine Center at Ga'ash, were won by Henrietta Eser, Eddie Hoffman and Eyal Maoz. The Ga'ash Golf Club continues to hold the trials to choose the teams for the Maccabi Games this July.
