Bnei Hasharon claimed its third win in four BSL games on Monday, inversely handing Hapoel Galil Elyon/Gilboa its third defeat in four encounters. Ariel Beit-Halachmi's team was anything but impressive in Ra'anana, but versus Oded Katash's struggling side, it was more than enough to win, 71-66. "We didn't play a great game, but at least we defended properly and got the job done," Beit-Halachmi said. Thanks to the win, Bnei Hasharon leapfrogs Galil into fourth position in the standings. A Meir Tapiro basket gave Bnei Hasharon a 14-2 lead after five minutes and the hosts were in front 20-12 after 10 minutes. At the break Bnei Hasharon led 42-33 and was still comfortably ahead with 10 minutes to play (61-50). Galil managed to close to within three points in the last couple minutes of the encounter, but the hosts held on for their eighth victory of the season and the visitors crashed to yet another defeat. Tapiro scored 16 points, passed six assists and took five rebounds for the winners, with Sean James adding 13 points and Ousmane Cisse contributing 11 points and 10 rebounds. "We started the season poorly, but improved afterwards. However, since the winter break we've seemed to have lost our chemistry," Tapiro said. "I hope we can return to the form we displayed before the break." Brian Randle scored 14 points for Galil, which has lost five of its last seven games after an excellent start to the season. "We can't continue like this," Katash said. "We're facing some tough games now and we must win some of them."
