Mac TA loses to Panathinaikos 78-70 in European final

Yellow-and-blue fails in bid to win sixth European title, falling to Greek powerhouse in Barcelona final.

Maccabi Tel Aviv on Sunday failed in its bid to claim its sixth European title losing to Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos 78-70 in the Euroleague final in Barcelona.
Maccabi qualified for the final by defeating Spanish team Real Madrid 82-63 in the semifinal on Friday.
Prior to the final, Maccabi coach David Blatt praised Panathinaikos, calling the Greeks "a team of great experience, with a great coach and continuity and quality players.”
The game marked Maccabi's seventh Euroleague final in 12 seasons and fourteenth appearance in the European championship game overall, tying them with Real Madrid for the most ever.
