Four Israeli records were set over the weekend in the national swimming championships at Wingate Institute.
Yoav Bruck's mark in the 50-meter freestyle stood for some 14 years, but on the final day of the championships on Saturday it was finally erased from the record books by Nimrod Shapria Bar-Or.
Bar-Or won the race in 22.75 seconds, improving Bruck's best by four hundredths of a second.
Two more national records were set on Saturday.
Amit Ivry clocked a time of 58.21s to win the women's 100m butterfly final, while Alon Mandel improved his own record in the men's 100m butterfly, touching the wall after 52.56s.
However, it was Nadav Kochavi who was crowned national champion in the event in a time of 53.93s, with Mandel setting the record in the 'B' final after swimming poorly in the morning heats and failing to advance to the 'A' final.
On Friday, Yuliya Banach improved her own national record in the 50m breaststroke, completing the course in 31.95s.
Hapoel Jerusalem won both the men's and the women's team competitions.
