RiseHi reclaims first by routing CleanTech

RiseHi defeated CleanTech 18-7 at Kibbutz Gezer on Friday to reclaim first place in the modified-pitch softball league.

RiseHi defeated CleanTech 18-7 at Kibbutz Gezer on Friday to reclaim first place in the modified-pitch softball league.
The teams were knotted at three in the fourth when the hot RiseHi bats got going and burst out for six runs to take control of the contest. With two outs, Yoni Schwartz began the rally with a single and was driven in by an Ariel Gilor double, before Sammy Tover reached on an infield hit, Tzvi Harow hit a clutch double for two more runs, Alan Tover walked and Josh Ettinger capped it with a towering 3-run HR.
CleanTech got a couple back in the top of the fifth but a promising rally was killed when Alan Tover threw out Nosson Mandel trying to steal second to end the inning.
CleanTech disintegrated in the bottom half of the inning, giving up another six runs, with crucial errors in the field destroying all chances of a comeback.
For RiseHi, Gilor had three hits, three RBIs and scored four runs andHarow had two doubles and knocked in four runs. Sammy Tover had threehits while his brothers, Alan and David, each had two hits and scored apair runs.
Mandel and Yaniv Tsaidi led the CleanTech offense with three hitsapiece, with Mandel driving in two and Tsaidi scoring three times.
Gershon Jacobovotich added a solo home-run in the 7th, when the game was already far out of reach.
