The Israel Football Association will hold a special secretary meeting on Tuesday to decide whether to renew league play this coming weekend. Last Monday, the IFA chose to postpone all the league matches, senior and youth, scheduled for the past weekend saying it felt it would be wrong to play while residents of the south are under rocket fire. However, if the early indications are anything to go by, it now seems as though the IFA will elect to play soccer this coming weekend, security permitting. The IFA announced on Sunday that many of the midweek State Cup and Toto Cup games will go ahead as planned and also notified Maccabi Netanya that its next league match against Maccabi Tel Aviv will be played on Monday rather than Saturday. Ashdod SC is set to return to training in its home town on Monday for the first time since the fighting in Gaza began. Nevertheless, Ashdod will host Maccabi Netanya in the return leg of the Toto Cup quarterfinal at National Stadium in Ramat Gan and not at its home stadium.
