US President Donald Trump has given Hamas until Sunday at 6 p.m. DC time to agree to his proposal to end the Gaza war, he announced in a Friday Truth Social post.

Trump threatened that unless Hamas agrees, "all HELL like no one has ever seen before, will break out," against the terror group.

"Hamas has been a ruthless and violent threat for many years in the Middle East!" he added.

"They have killed (and made lives unbearably miserable), culminating with the October 7th MASSACRE, in Israel, babies, women, children, old people, and many young men and women, boys and girls, getting ready to celebrate their future lives together."

"THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Hamas unlikely to agree to Trump proposal, BBC reports

This comes after a Hamas official told the BBC that it was unlikely to accept Trump's proposal to end the war in Gaza.

The British public-service broadcaster cited the official saying that the plan "serves Israel's interests" and "ignores those of the Palestinian people."

The BBC report noted that a Palestinian official had said that it is being examined by Hamas leadership both inside and outside of Gaza.

Another condition that Hamas reportedly rejects is releasing the remaining hostages at once, which the BBC describes as them letting go of their only "bargaining chip."

Trump's plan calls for the immediate release of all hostages, the deradicalization of Gaza, and an Israeli withdrawal to an agreed-upon line, amongst other conditions.
