"They're smart women of color, two of them happen to be Muslim," said Mark Pocan.

Wisconsin Democrat Representative Mark Pocan defended the words and actions of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, who have on several occasions made antisemitic and anti-Israel comments, according to a Washington Times report.
"They're smart women of color, two of them happen to be Muslim," Pocan said. "So between AOC, Rashida and Ilhan - that hits every box [conservatives have] told people to fear for a long time."
Pocan went on to claim that this fear is the reason conservatives attacked the three women. He said that the backlash against the three congresswomen would only increase left-wing support for them.
The positive reaction is not what many expected when all three women repeatedly made anti-Israel and antisemitic comments. Just last week, Democratic leaders wrote a resolution that chastised Omar for her antisemitic remarks. However, after AOC took issue with the resolution and posted about it on Twitter, Democratic leaders tweaked it so that it also condemned white supremacists and Islamophobia.
