Asian Football Confederation President and FIFA Executive Committee member Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has denounced the Israeli army’s search of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) headquarters in A-Ram, a town northeast of Jerusalem, on Monday, describing it as intolerable and unacceptable. The AFC President stated that Monday's incident is a dangerous precedent that requires the international sporting family to stand together and support the PFA in standing up to what he described as "the systematic violations of the Israeli authorities".Shaikh Salman affirmed that the AFC will start to coordinate with FIFA to study ways and mechanisms to put an end to such occurrences. He expressed confidence that Monday's search will help "galvanize Palestinian football in the face of the Israeli action", and that "the nation will continue achieving great success such as the Palestine national team winning the recent AFC Challenge Cup and qualifying for the Asian Cup finals for the first time."In response, the IDF said that its forces were on a routine patrol outside the the PFA headquarters on Monday. They questioned some people outside the building who were not carrying IDs and the soldiers entered the building to obtain them, the army said.
