Border Police on Saturday thwarted an attempted stabbing attack at the Cave of the Patriarchs in the West Bank city of Hebron. The suspect, a 15-year-old, reportedly set off metal detectors upon entering the holy site, and was searched by police on the site, who discovered a knife in the boy's possession. He was then detained by police, who are questioning him. On Friday, IDF forces foiled an attack in which a suspect attempted to stab a soldier at a junction on Route 60 near Hebron. No injuries were reported, and the would-be assailant was apprehended by security forces. In response to the attacks, and to the increased IDF presence in the West Bank following a fatal attack in the West Bank city of Ariel last week, Hamas called for a mass march in the city of el-Bireh, near Ramallah. Troops found and killed Ahmed Nassar Jarrar earlier this week, who was suspected of killing Rabbi Raziel Shevach, who was murdered in Havat Gilad, the outpost in which he lived. They are still searching for Abed al-Karim Adel Asi, who is wanted for the murder of Itamar Ben-Gal, who was killed while waiting for a bus in the settlement of Ariel.
