Days after Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas signed the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the Facebook page of his Fatah movement displayed a picture of Netanyahu next to a noose, with the word 'soon,' written both in Arabic and Hebrew. The post also displayed the words International Criminal Court, with the body's scales of justice symbol. Upon signing the Rome Statute on Wednesday, Abbas said that he intended to file war crimes complaints against Israelis. Last week, on the occasion of Fatah's 50th anniversary, the same Fatah website posted a picture of a mountain of skulls marked with Jewish stars, and the words, 'lingering on your skulls.' A Fatah spokesman told CNN on Friday that the group was not responsible for the image of the skulls. “Fatah did not design this image,” Mahmoud al-Aloul said, who added that the person who posted it “is currently being asked to remove it. The image and the text do not reflect the opinions of Fatah.” The image was removed after al-Aloul's comments were made to CNN. This is not Fatah's first Facebook controversy. After the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers last summer, Fatah's page displayed a number of cartoons, including one depicting the kidnapped teens as rats caught on a fishing line.
