IAF strikes Hamas training site from which bullets struck Israeli homes
Military sources believe bullets were fired in stray cross-border fire.

The Israel Air Force pummeled a Hamas training facility in northern Gaza early Thursday in response to the firing of bullets from the site at Israeli homes in Moshav Netiv Ha’asara.“The IDF views the Hamas terrorist organization as being exclusively responsible for what occurs in the Gaza Strip, and maintaining quiet in the area,” the IDF said.A family in Netiv Ha’asara narrowly escaped injury on Wednesday when two bullets penetrated their living room.One bullet shattered a window and lodged in a television, missing two young children by a few meters.Army sources indicated that they believe the shots were likely stray fire rather than a deliberate attack on the home.Following the incident, Ashkelon Coast Regional Council head Yair Farjun told Army Radio, “I demand that the government take immediate steps to cease the threats to our lives.No more ‘emergency routines.’” On August 31, a day before children in the South returned to school, residents of Gaza-border communities heard an early morning rocket siren, and took cover, before hearing a blast.It was caused by a rocket fired in Gaza that failed to cross the border into Israel. Schools reopened as planned in the area in the following hours.On August 27, in response to a projectile attack from Gaza on the Eshkol region, the air force bombed a weapons manufacturing site in central Gaza that belonged to Hamas.
