Police investigating report of Israeli assault against two Palestinians
The Judea and Samaria police received a report of two Palestinians from the village of Qalil in Samaria, who claimed to have been attacked by a number of suspects.

Police are investigating a report that two Palestinians were assaulted allegedly by a group of Israelis near the settlements of Yitzhar and Kfar Tapuah on Thursday morning.According to the left-wing group Rabbis for Human Rights, the two Palestinians were on their way to work in a car when they were surrounded at the Tapuah junction by a group of people who appeared to be “extremist settlers.”The two Palestinian men were dragged out of their car and beaten, the group said.Rabbis for Human Rights further charged that Israelis had vandalized a number of Palestinian owned cars in the West Bank village of ‘Urif.The group said the number of attacks against Palestinians had risen since last Thursday’s hit-and-run accident, in which an Israeli woman was killed by a Palestinian driver near the Havat Gilad outpost.The driver in that incident, a Palestinian man, did not stop his vehicle but continued to Nablus, where he turned himself in to the Palestinian police, and explained that he was afraid to stop at the accident’s site.Police have worked under the assumption that this was an accident, but initial reports described the incident as a vehicular attack.The Judea and Samaria police said on Thursday it received a report of two Palestinians from the village of Qalil in Samaria, who claimed to have been attacked by a number of suspects. The two men were injured and were in need of medical attention, according to the police.“An investigation was launched into the circumstances of the incident,” the police said.
