Spillover from Syria strikes Golan for fourth time in 1 week

No injuries or damage was reported in the incident.

Spillover from the Syrian Civil War struck the Golan Heights in Israeli territory for the fourth time this week, Channel 2 reported on Friday.
The errant fire landed in an open area in the North. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Israel views the Syrian regime as ultimately responsible for what is taking place on its territory,
This event comes on the heels of Wednesday's incident when a stray projectile launched from Syria landed on the Israeli side of Golan Heights at the same time Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Katzrin at a ceremony marking the town's 40th anniversary. The IDF promptly fired back into Syrian territory targeting the site from where the projectile was fired.
Netanyahu said following the IDF response that Israel will not tolerate a “spillover” of the fighting in Syria into Israel, and will respond to every incident of fire on Israel.
Earlier this week, the IDF struck targets across the border after mortar shells fired from Syria fell on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights. The incident occurred just a day after a similar situation transpired in the North, forcing the military to evacuate residents in the area for their own protection.
The mortar fire came just hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned at the weekly cabinet meeting that Israel would not tolerate a “trickle” of rocket fire on its territory.
“Our policy is clear,” he said. “We will not accept any kind of ‘trickle’ – not of mortars, rockets or spillover fire [from the Syrian Civil War].
We will respond with force to every attack on our territory and against our citizens.”
Nevertheless, the fire continued, and the IDF responded by striking a number of Syrian positions. The IDF spokesman said two Syrian regime artillery positions and an ammunition truck were hit. A day earlier, the IDF hit a heavy machine gun position and two Syrian tanks.
