The Palestinian youth who stabbed an Israeli man near the Rami Levy supermarket chain in the West Bank settlement of Sha'ar Binyamin on Friday, wounding him moderately, posted a video on social media accepting credit for the attack.In the clip, which in all likelihood was recorded prior to the attack on Friday, the assailant, Bara'a Issa, says that his motivation for stabbing the Israeli was "to defend the al-Aksa mosque.""On behalf of myself and the Palestinian people, I, Bara'a Issa, a son of Jerusalem, set out to defend the al-Aksa mosque and our holy land," he said. "I sacrifice myself and dedicate myself to this attack, without any individual or organization guiding me."The video went viral among Palestinian users of social media on Friday just hours after it was first posted on Issa's Facebook page. This is believed to be the first time that a Palestinian lone-wolf attacker posted a video clip claiming credit for his actions on social media.Issa remains at large, and Israeli security services are actively searching for him. He called on fellow Palestinian youths to follow in his footsteps. "My young brothers, martyrdom is the best thing [out there] and I call on you to continue on this path of liberation and die as a martyr," he says in the clip. "Your brother, Bara'a Issa, the al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Fatah."
