Cultural Forum reps reach agreement with gov't officials and rescind threat to boycott Israel's 60th Independence Day celebrations.

Cultural Forum representatives reached an agreement with the Finance Ministry, the Science, Culture and Sports Minister and the Prime Minister's Office, and thus has chosen to rescind its decision to boycott Israel's 60th Independence Day celebrations.
The Arts and Culture Authority's budget was given an additional NIS 55 million, and the various institutions' budgets were not reduced, as had originally been proposed.
Representatives from the Finance Ministry, the Prime Minister's Office and the Cultural Forum will prepare a long-term plan by the end of February.
The Cultural Forum represents all of Israel's cultural institutions, some 150 bodies from the performing arts to the museums.
