Fringe theater readies the Hedgehogs

Lifetime Achievement awards will go to veteran actor Shmuel Wolf and theater artist/innovator Amir Uryan.

Israel's fringe theater will honor its own from March 25 to 27 with two days of fringe performances culminating in the fourth annual Golden Hedgehog awards. They will be held at the Arab-Hebrew Theater in Jaffa on March 27. Lifetime Achievement awards will go to veteran actor and lifelong fringe supporter Shmuel Wolf and theater artist/innovator/teacher Amir Uryan. Actor/director Adib Jahshan will receive a prize for his singular contribution to local Arab language theater through his El Seraya theater in Jaffa and his work within the Arab-Hebrew Theater. There are 28 productions competing in 13 categories. Participating fringe theaters include Tzavta, the Simta, Arab-Hebrew Theater, Karov, Tmuna and Performance Art Stage.
