A new contemporary art gallery is opening next week in Tel Aviv's new "Soho" area on Rehov Herzl. Contemporary by Golconda is owned by businessman and art dealer Ronald Fuhrer; he also is one of the owners of the Golconda Gallery on Sderot Rothschild. The idea behind the new gallery is to serve as a cultural center that's part of the contemporary art scene. Aside from displaying the works of promising artists, the gallery will also host lectures and other events.
Contemporary by Golconda is taking up residence in a building constructed in 1929 which was Ahva's first tehina and halva factory.
