The Tel Aviv University will bestow an honorary doctorate on actress Gila Almagor on May 18. The university's Senate said she was being honored for her contributions to Israeli culture as "the first lady of stage and screen" and for her professionalism in acting, writing, philanthropy and being a public persona over the past 50 years.
