Soap opera actor Guy Arieli and professional dance partner Masha Troyanski waltzed, tangoed and boogied their way to an upset victory on Monday night's finale of Rokdim im Kochavim (Dancing with Stars), the second Channel Two reality series to wrap-up with huge ratings in less than a week. Four days after the conclusion of runaway hit Kochav Nolad, fans of the network's second summer hit voted by the hundreds of thousands to name Arieli, 31, and Troyanski, 22, winners of the show's sophomore season. A surprise runner-up for a second consecutive year was 24-year-old Anna Aronov, who along with former Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer star Haim Revivo was chosen by the series' panel of four judges as the superior couple. The judges awarded 114 points to Aronov and Revivo and 108 points to their competitors during three rounds of competition earlier in the evening, twice giving the soccer star and his Soviet-born partner nothing but 10s. The pair's perfect scores didn't prevent TV fans from overlooking the judges' preference, however, with the majority of telephone and text message votes naming Arieli and Troyanski the winners of the show's second season. Arieli, who starred most recently on Israel Music Channel soap opera Yeladot Raot, accidentally tore the dress of his raven-haired partner during the pair's first dance of the night. Troyanski, who made aliya to Israel six years ago from the former Soviet Union, took his misstep in stride, tearing away the bottom half of her gown in the couple's final dance to avoid further mishaps. A donation will be made in Arieli and Troyanski s names to a charity of their choice.
