Lia van Leer, the founder and director of the Jerusalem Film Festival, is rumored to be resigning from her position after this summer's festival. Cinemascope.co.il., an online blog, reported that Van Leer will be replaced by the director of the Israel Film Fund, Katriel Schory. Spokeswoman for the Cinematheque, Aviva Meron, insists that the report is false. This summer will be the 23rd Jerusalem Film Festival. Van Leer also founded the cinematheques in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa and is the director of the Jerusalem Cinematheque. Both van Leer and Schory are currently in Cannes attending the film festival there.
