Children of the Sun, a three-time award winner earlier this summer at the Jerusalem Film Festival, has been added to the schedule of one of the year's major international film events - next month's Toronto Film Festival. The documentary, about the first generation of children born on pre-state kibbutzim, earned prizes in Jerusalem for Best Documentary and for its editing and use of old audio-visual material, including archival film footage and recordings of kibbutz songs from the start of the 20th century. Acquired for foreign distribution by the Netherlands' Fortissimo Films, Children of the Sun will make its overseas debut in Toronto. The documentary is also scheduled to appear next year on American public television.
