Teapacks fails to make it to Eurovision finals

Teapacks, the band representing Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest, did not make it to the final round of the competition after the semifinals on Thursday night. Shortly before the judges gave their verdict on which bands would continue on to the next round, it was reported that the director of the Culture and Entertainment Department of the Israel Broadcasting Authority, Yoav Ginai, submitted an appeal to the Eurovision management after the band's performance was cut off in the middle of the semifinals broadcast. The controversial Teapacks song, "Push the Button," was nearly banned from the competition at first, and tensions remained despite the song's eventual admission to the contest. The semifinals took place in Helsinki, Finland.
