Alma is a small, intimate restaurant downtown, offering a warm and welcoming Israeli experience. The
cuisine is half Israeli/ Arab and half international with light modern touches. The
restaurant offers a rich bar, cocktails and a
Jerusalem wine menu composed of bottles from local wineries. The atmosphere is mild and you can sit for hours without getting the uncomfortable sensation of wanting out.
Among the recommended dishes are the sinie eggplant, a roasted baladi eggplant stuffed with spiced lamb meat and served on tehina (NIS 36); the fish falafel, fried and served on home-baked laffa-bread with sour tehina (NIS 42); the beef kebabs served on a masabacha of white beans and tehina (NIS 64); and the slow-cooked veal in root vegetables and local spices (NIS 79).
Alma manages to overcome the limitations that come with being
kosher, and offers a wide variety of good value courses made just right.
