Chef Elad Kahlon and meat expert Erez Rafaeli boast the widest selection of meat dishes available in any Israeli meat restaurant today. Each category of meat on the menu receives special attention and showcases dishes unique to the Meat Loft in both taste and presentation.
The restaurant also features a chic New York design in a hot and sensual red theme. It includes three dining areas: the main diner, a wide open interior with shades of burgundy wood, the lively colored retro bar and terrace, and the intimate and elegant private dining room that seats up to 30 guests.
To whet your appetite, start with the country-style chicken liver paté with fig marmalade and bruschetta (32 NIS) or the carpaccio, thinly sliced beef filet served with extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and leaf salad in a tarragon and Parmesan vinaigrette (NIS 44).
Kahlon adds a special touch in the fig marmalade and the tarragon and Parmesan vinaigrette, upgrading the classic rendition of these familiar dishes to unique culinary creations.
The main courses are nothing less than extraordinary. The 300- gram Angus beef burger filled with medallions of foie gras and served on a bun with vegetables and onion confit (NIS 76) was truly exceptional. The addition of foie gras to the traditional Angus beef burger transforms this dish into a unique and simply delicious hamburger in a league of its own.
Another dish that is as impressive in its presentation as in its flavor is the butcher’s skewer: 300 grams of sirloin, peppers, onions and cherry tomatoes in a beef stock and barbecue sauce served on potato purée (98 NIS). This chic and colorful dish is perfect for beef aficionados, showcasing the juicy, succulent meats the Meat Loft has to offer.
For those with special dietary needs or for vegetarians, the Meat Loft also offers a wide range of seafood, pastas and gluten-free dishes.
The prices at the Meat Loft are surprisingly reasonable, though they tend to climb with the quality and uniqueness of the dishes. The main courses range from grilled chicken breast (NIS 59) to the most exclusive item on the menu: the filet Rossini, a grilled beef filet and goose liver served on a bed of potato purée and sweet red wine sauce (NIS 156).
If after all that food (and the portions are generous!) you find you still have room for dessert, then the strawberry cheese kadaif is a winner. Kahlon again takes a traditional cheese cake and fuses it with Mediterranean-style influences, making this the best dessert on the menu.
The Meat Loft is a high-quality meat restaurant right in our backyard. For residents of Rishon Lezion, this eatery is a landmark that is constantly reinventing itself.
Next time you’re in the mood for a juicy steak or a good old-fashioned hamburger with a twist, don’t think twice, just head to this chic restaurant to see for yourself what all the commotion is about.
