My family, at least the meat-devouring members, loved the veal entrecote meat strips by Adom Adom that come with prepared marinating sauce. Adom Adom meat products, which the company claims have never been frozen, are located in the refrigerated department of your supermarket. This is a good choice for your next al ha-esh (barbecue); a kilo of the entrecote strips is priced at NIS 60. More organic breakfast cereals are on the shelves now with the introduction of the Harduf organic bran flakes and cornflakes. Together with organic yogurt or milk, you can have a completely organic breakfast. The flakes do not contain any added sugar; a 375 gr. package is NIS 19.90. Adama also has new organic cornflakes and bran flakes, as well as chocolate flakes for kids. The cornflakes and bran flakes come in two varieties: regular and sugar-free; a package of cornflakes is NIS 19.90, sugar-free cornflakes and bran flakes are NIS 21.90, sugar-free bran flakes are NIS 22.90 and the chocolate flakes are NIS 25.90. Materna, the company that markets infant formula, has some packages that contain a mix of cereal and infant formula, making preparing breakfast for your baby/toddler easy. A new addition to these Materna Ensemble (Gam vegam) mixes is banana-apple flavored cereal, supposedly a favorite flavor of toddlers; one package is NIS 21. Tnuva has two new additions to its Shock drinks that might appeal to more mature consumers: Shock ice coffee and diet ice coffee. The drinks come in individual-sized 400 ml. bottles and cost NIS 5.5. New in the series of frozen vegetable mixes from Sunfrost is the stir-fry vegetable mix with noodles, containing carrots, cabbage, red pepper, green pepper, corn, onion and, of course, noodles. The vegetables can be stir-fried with chicken or tofu; an 800 gr. package is NIS 19. New and supposedly healthier mayonnaise from Telma is the mayonnaise made with canola (rape seed) oil. The oil is a good source of the omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. The mayonnaise is available in a regular and a light version, which contains only 5% fat; a 500 gr. jar is NIS 9.90-10.90. The familiar Osem jelly packages have gotten a face lift and now look more modern and attractive. Two new flavors have also been added: grape and tutti frutti. On the back of each package you can find a recipe; the price for one package is NIS 6.25.
