By JERUSALEM POST STAFFDee Dee Bridgewater headed hereIn April, Jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater will come to Israel to perform songs from a tribute album to jazz legend Billie Holiday.Bridgewater will sing Holiday classics she covers on her new album, such as “Lover Man,” “Lady Sings the Blues,” “God Bless the Child,” “Good Morning Heartache” and others.Bridgewater is no newcomer to Israel and has been performing here since 1988. Her past shows include a concert where she was accompanied by the Israel Philharmonic as well as several appearances at the Eilat Jazz Festival.In her coming performance, on April 8 at 8:30 p.m. at the Ra’anana Ampitheater, Bridgewater will be accompanied by Edsel Gomez on keyboards, James Carter on saxophone, Ira Colman on bass and Bruce Cox on drums.Tickets will cost between NIS 150 and 240.

Yo La Tengo adds second showAmerican indie rock favorites Yo La Tengo have added a second show to their Israeli debut next month. The New Jersey trio will be performing on March 22 and 23 at the Barby club in Tel Aviv. Both shows begin at 10 p.m., with Geva Alon appearing as opening act.Tickets are available at www.barby.co.il
