Israeli Bach Soloists, a young and talented local ensemble which this year is performing a cycle of Bach’s cantatas, all selected according to the Lutheran calendar, presents a program dedicated to Easter music. The concert takes place at the Kiryat-Yearim church in Abu Ghosh at noon on Saturday, March 20. The program features Bach’s Cantata BWV 166 “Wo gehst du hin?” and the choral movement “Sei nun wieder zufrieden” from Cantata BWV 21, as well as Pergolesi’s setting of the Stabat Mater, a highly dramatic text describing Christ’s mother standing next to the cross and weeping. The participants are Hadas Faran, soprano, Avital Dery, alto, David Nortman, tenor, Yair Polishook, bass,Yigal Kaminka, oboe, Hadas Fabrikant and Rachel Ringelstein,violins, Katya Polin, viola, Ira Givol, violoncello, Zohar Shefi, organ and Sharon Rosner, conductor.
