Herzliya goes global

The Habama Hall for the Arts in Herzliya is holding an artistic spin around the globe through the prisms of dance, music and stories.

The Habama Hall for the Arts in Herzliya is holding an artistic spin around the globe through the prisms of dance, music and stories. From Wednesday through next Saturday, "Around the World in Four Days" will include performances, explanations of the various musical styles and photographic exhibitions celebrating the particular culture being highlighted. The series kicks off on Wednesday in France, "On the Curbs of Paris," which is the name of Tilda Rejuan's show of chanson, accompanied by readings of French love poems by Kobi Medan. On Thursday, it's on to Cuba, with the Cobson Band (pictured) playing rumba, salsa, and more, and Dubi Lenz speaking on the secrets of the Cuban rhythm. Performing on Friday and Saturday evenings are Ramon Oller's Metros Company of Spain performing an exotic and evocative rendition of Carmen. On Saturday, Italy is represented by leading soloists of the Israeli Opera performing "Viva Verdi," a tribute to the ever-popular composer that spotlights arias from Rigoletto, La Traviata, and others of his best known operas. Also on Saturday, "From Athens to Salonica" includes two parts: stories from Greece with the radio personality Yaron Enosh, and Dorit Farkash singing songs of Athens with bouzouki accompaniment by Lazar Boano.
