The Israel Chamber Orchestra will set out this week for a 14-concert, 13-city tour of the US with its music director, composer/conductor Gil Shohat.
Israeli works by Shohat and Yehezkel Braun will be played together with beloved staples such as Beethoven's 7th, Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony and piano concerti by Mozart and Schumann. Philippe Entremont will play the concerti, and will also conduct in West Palm Beach, Florida. Other venues along the route include Hershey and Louisberg, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Princeton Universities, as well as Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, where Eli Jaffe will conduct.
