The 19th Keshet Eilon - International Violin Master Course will take place at the picturesque Kibbutz Eilon in the Western Galilee from July 24 to August 12. A total 45 students from 19 countries will come to study under the guidance of outstanding musicians and teachers, including Shlomo Mintz, Shmuel Ashkenazi, Eduard Grach, Itzhak Rashkovski, Vadim Gluzman and others, as well as honorable guests Ida Handel and Haim Taub. The program features individual lessons, master classes, lectures, and various concerts - from those by students and teachers to a replication of a Yasha Heifetz concert in Tel Aviv in 1926 to the Israeli debut of the New Russian Quartet from Moscow. All of the activities are open to the public: some for free and others for reasonable fees. Hotel rooms are available both in Eilon and the surrounding kibbutzim, which allows visitors to combine nature trips with culture. The course culminates in a final gala concert on August 11 at 8 p.m. in the Smolarz Auditorium at Tel Aviv University. More information, reservations: www.keshetei.org.il or (04) 985-8131/191.
