This year's series of "Shabat Baboker" (Saturday morning) 11 a.m. concerts celebrate the Israel Opera's 25th anniversary. They feature Israeli Opera soloists, costumes and sets, and are hosted by Israel Opera Artistic Administrator Michael Azjenstadt. The first concert next Saturday (26/9) offers Puccini's tragic heroines Butterfly, Mimi and Tosca - the gals who dropped like flies in 19th century opera. There's six concerts in all, including one devoted to Russian and Israeli folk songs (21/11), another focused on the movement from opera to musical (24/4/10) and an anniversary gala to close (26/7/10).
