Bibi's electoral future

I''m to going to be a pundit.  A dangerous thing.

If Benjamin Netanyahu enters into any ceasefire agreement - temporary, short-term or long-term - Netanyahu might face a real probelm come elections.

First, many people already viewed the new bloc of Likud - Yisrael Beiteinu as giving them an opportunity to vote for a smaller list on the assumption that Bibi will in any case be getting more than enough votes.

Second, the agreement, even if it holds until the elections - and that, of course, places Bibi''s election hopes in the hands of Hamas (!) - will be viewed by many as a betrayal of their security, lives, livelihood and emotional stability and they will might punish him and vote for another list, possibly HaBayit HaYehudi.

Third, if the ceasefire fails, for sure he''ll lose many votes.

And worse, the next emergency call-up might not compare in enthusiasm of this time''s call up.
