Did Bibi take a chance? No! He took a stand!

There’s an old saying, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” Prime Minister Netanyahu’s recent speech to the US Congress and his victory in the Israeli elections are, without doubt, still the topics of heated conversation in the White House.
Despite his best efforts, Mr. Obama had to bandage up his wounds following one of the toughest fights he’s encountered since becoming president of the most powerful nation in the world. With all of his clout and team of powerful political operatives, Mr. Obama was unable to defeat Israel’s little David, Bibi Netanyahu, who was chosen by the people of Israel to again serve as their prime minister.
His victory in this election marks him as Israel’s longest serving prime minister. From his first day in office, Obama has demonstrated his dislike not only for Netanyahu but for America’s only friend and ally in the Middle East - Israel.
Mr. Obama has repeatedly tried to discredit Netanyahu by complaining to the world that Bib is an obstacle to peace in the Middle East. His first emissary to Israel was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who traveled to the Holy Land to put pressure on Israel to give more of her land away to the Palestinians in exchange for peace; a formula Israel has learned will never work and the Gaza Disengagement is proof positive.
Clinton’s bullying failed to gain any traction. The man who stepped into her shoes, John Kerry, not only continues pressuring Israel to give up land but now adds “salt to the wound” by demanding that Israel sit idly by while her arch enemy, Iran, continues down the path of developing a nuclear weapon.
No matter what Israel does to protect herself from radical Islam and continued threats from her hostile Arab neighbors, President Obama and the rest of the world will continue to find fault with Israel. Every sovereign nation has a duty to protect its citizens from outside aggression and invasion. When Israel takes defensive actions to protect her citizens from radical Muslim suicide (homicide) bombers or defend her citizens and her borders from terrorist aggression and terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah, Israel receives criticism. It has taken some time for Americans to wake up to what the current Washington D.C. administration is unjustly trying to do to Israel for the sake of their own political legacy.
One thing is certain. Mr. Obama will not be successful in sidelining Benjamin Netanyahu who has demonstrated that when it comes to protecting his people and his country, he will not abandon his principles. It took courage to address the US Congress in light of the overwhelming criticism being hurled at him from the White House but Netanyahu’s concern was not appeasement; it was telling the truth. As the leader of a free and democratic nation, he took seriously his responsibility to warn the world about the dangers of signing on to a bad deal with Iran.
Despite intense pressure and very public objections from the White House, Netanyahu elected to speak to the U.S. Congress and for this he deserves great respect. On the day of his speech, President Obama quickly learned that he had a tiger by the tail. Like Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, President Obama seems to continue making the same mistakes in dealing with God’s chosen people.
Guess the president’s former anti-Israel pastor failed to teach his congregation that Israel plus G-d equals the majority. President Obama would save himself a lot of pain if he would embrace Israel rather than attempting to weaken her by blurring or erasing her defensible borders. History shows that those who come against Israel pay a heavy price.
When will Obama learn this lesson and stop going in the wrong direction taking America over the cliff and jeopardizing the safety and security of Israel? One thing is for certain, the people of Israel have a solid leader in Benjamin Netanyahu. He’s not going to allow anyone or any nation to put his people in harm’s way.
Mr. Obama might be the president of the most powerful nation on earth but he is no match for G-d’s man of the hour, Bibi Netanyahu.
