Shira comes from New Jersey.She is a new Jerusalemite beginning her life journey from learning Hebrew.“What I really love about Jerusalem is the amazing diversity that is around every corner. On any given street you can hear a mixture of accents ranging from every continent(minus Antarctica). Right now I am in ulpan and I am surrounded by Olim from so many different countries. We are all here to learn Hebrew but as it is the beginning, we can't yet communicate with each other fluently in Hebrew. Therefore, I have decided to learn how to say grapefruit in a variety of different languages so I can at least communicate one word to each person here. Eventually we will all be united in our ability to say Eshkolit to one another”.
