When a family moves into a new house and carries out a general renovation, it is a process that requires a lot of planning and thinking. But when it comes to a project for a family consisting of a pair of parents who are the second chapter of the relationship and who want to open a new chapter with children, some of whom are from previous marriages, the challenge is even greater. In light of this, the interior designer, Gabi Nebo, provided the necessary solutions that also include precision in the smallest details.
The house is located in the settlement of Ornit on the Samaria mountains and covers 220 square meters including 3 levels and 6 rooms. They bought the house in excellent condition, but the lifestyle of the family members and the character of the children of different ages led them to make a change in the design of the house.
"In-depth thinking was required for comfortable, flowing and calm planning, both in terms of human engineering and in terms of materials, furniture and dressing the spaces," explains interior designer Gabi Nebo. "In order to safely reach the winning recipe that is the desired result, one must get to know the family in depth, their desires and their lifestyle on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Thanks to knowing these needs, the ultimate result can be reached."
The general appearance of the entrance floor was changed from brown filters to white filters with a modern look combining wood and stone, the width of the walls was reduced and replaced with display cases and wide columns that received proper treatment with a dominant but quiet covering so that they would be seen as a planned point of interest and not as a constraint. The center of the project and the heart of the house was the kitchen On the first floor, where the father of the house is responsible for the cooking and the teenage daughter is the winner of the desserts, and together they create indulgent meals on a daily basis. And directly to the front yard, the exit of which was expanded and opened along the entire accommodation space.
At the same time as upper and lower storage along the wall line, there is a 'never-ending' island that also contains a number of storage units whose location was planned according to the needs of the house on weekdays, Saturdays, events and holidays. So that the way of working in the kitchen will be practical and inviting during cooking and no less important during cleaning as well."
For the children, the biggest change in the house took place in the teenage daughter's room on the 3rd floor. There, the plan to create a spacious suite, modeled and separate from the boys' rooms, included breaking and building walls, moving pipes and installing a new one with skeleton-adjustment constraints, with the aim of providing creative solutions for easy access to the attic and of course rebuilding. "Neutral shades were chosen for the bathroom coverings in order for the room to grow accordingly and at ease with the teenager. In addition to choosing suitable furniture, we chose the free style together and at the same time, subtle splashes of color and parquet flooring that gave balance and warmth to the look."
The boys' bedrooms were also renovated and even the bathroom was designed and designed especially for them, in a way that would meet all their needs and would not require them to take unnecessary steps for simple actions such as throwing the dirty clothes into the laundry basket.
"There is nothing more disappointing than feeling like guests in our home, especially in the current era when everything around us is changing and we are exposed to trends that come and go and sometimes change even just before the end of a project. You have to stop and understand how I want to wake up, eat, sleep, host and even argue in order to feel at home," concluded the designer The face Gabi Nevo.
