The young couple purchased their new apartment, which is located in a prestigious tower in the north of Tel Aviv, when it was already in a relatively advanced construction process, and yet, they did not give up - they turned to the interior designer Meital Zimber, who within a few days submitted to the contracting company entrusted with the construction of the project a request for changes that worked wonders in relation to the original route originally proposed. Thus the two won an apartment that matches their needs as a couple at the beginning of their joint journey while looking years ahead - to the days when they will become young parents.

"Although the interior walls had already been built, we reached an agreement with the contracting company to break down a wall in the living room in order to enlarge the public space as well as another wall, which separated two bedrooms, in order to create a large master bedroom for the couple. The couple paid an additional fee for the minimal ceiling lowering on In order for us to create a lighting plan adapted to the new furniture placement," says Zimber. "Up until the move, the couple did not have a TV screen at home, and yet, thinking in the long term, they both realized that it would be appropriate to have one stage in the new apartment. For this purpose, we created a carpentry detail that stems from and continues the kitchen island furniture and is located in the axis that connects the kitchen to the living room.

On one side it is used as a multimedia chest and for storing items and on the other side as a hiding place for electrical products such as the Ninja, the mixer and the toaster. In this way we maintained a functional kitchen that is fun and comfortable to work in, without harming the aesthetics and formal cleanliness of the public space. Meanwhile, the position of the furniture creates an open axis between the living room and the large balcony, so you can enjoy the view unhindered."

Zimber chose to forgo a built-up wall that originally separated the living room from the hallway that leads to the room wing, and in its place designed a two-way piece of furniture: "The side facing the living room is more aesthetic and decorative and is used to display books and beautiful utensils, while the opposite side, the one facing the hallway, serves as a significant storage axis with an abundance of Space for coats, bags and wardrobe, dedicated compartments for materials and cleaning aids, etc. This closet is another example of how in this apartment, carpentry is the story. We tested and created practical and versatile solutions that serve as a partition between the functions and at the same time create plenty of storage spaces.

"The design of the apartment is classic, clean and temporary. This is a couple at the beginning of their career and their request was to produce a delicate design, based on the purity of light tones, with subtle touches of color that will make the space feel light and airy. We created the textures and contrast by using wallpaper and wooden details and the straight lines break Geometric elements such as the lighting fixtures that we hung above the island. We used durable textiles, also with the foreseeable future in mind when the children arrive, a choice that will eliminate the need for abrasive maintenance."

"The practice is also reflected in the planning of strategic areas in the apartment, such as the kitchen, for example, where we created three planes: one axis is used for tall carpentry and there the sink, the refrigerator, the ovens and areas for a tall storage pantry were designed. At the same time, two parallel islands were designed that leave the space open towards the balcony and the living room. We used durable nano formica, porcelain granite surfaces and chairs made of flexible and comfortable acrylic material. We converted the living room, which was originally designed as a teenager's unit, into a shared study for the couple and there we also used wallpapers, colors and a substantial custom made carpentry unit that adds a lot of storage space to this apartment.

"Although the couple's master bedroom is the product of a connection between two originally planned bedrooms, it is still not very large, and in order to create a space as open and airy as possible, we made one of the walls a built-in carpentry work. himself".

"Not long after the couple moved into their new apartment, I received happy news from them and at a good time they are expecting their first baby. It seems that the thought we put into planning a family apartment was completely in place."
