6 arrested for assaulting Druze student in Jerusalem

Six unidentified men accused of beating a male Druze student outside of Jerusalem’s Central Bus Station last Friday afternoon were arrested Monday morning, police said. While details of the attack and subsequent investigation remain unclear, according to Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, the victim sustained light wounds during the assault, which was recorded by security surveillance cameras, which aided police in identifying the suspects.
“It’s still not clear what the motivation was behind the assault, but police are investigating a number of possibilities,” said Rosenfeld when asked if the men will be charged for a hate crime. The unidentified victim was treated at Hadassah Medical Center in Ein Kerem, he said, adding that all the suspects were arraigned at Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Monday morning.
