SANAA - Three French aid workers who were kidnapped in Yemen in May are still alive, a Yemeni official said on Tuesday.
"The security authorities are still looking for them," Abdu al-Janadi, Yemen's deputy information minister, told reporters.
The workers disappeared in the southeastern province of Hadramout. Yemeni and French authorities have previously said the three were probably kidnapped.
Hadramout is among provinces where al Qaeda's Yemen-based wing has been active.
In Paris, the French Foreign Ministry said it was checking the report.
